WOW Skoda
Their most expensive car was a cake
In 2007, Skoda spent £500,000 building a life-sized Fabia replica, out of cake. It weighed 1.5 tonnes, had a Golden Syrup engine, Rice Krispies bodywork, and a chocolate finger grille. It won awards. The car-cake, not the Fabia.
There's an umbrella hiding inside most Skoda car
Skoda hides a full umbrella inside the car door, with a built-in drainage channel so it doesn't drip when you put it back wet. They also tuck an ice scraper inside the fuel cap. Small car. Very big brain.
Driven by Defiance
It started with Václav Klement turning rejection into action, from repairing bicycles to building early vehicles. In 1925, Laurin & Klement merged with Škoda Works to form Škoda Auto. Today, as part of Volkswagen Group, Škoda sells over a million cars worldwide, showing the power of one bold decision.
